Welcome to "The Alchemy of Taste," a food blog from BYU's Winter 2026 London Study Abroad program.

Here you'll find recipes, reflections, commentary, and analysis on a variety of British foods. 

Working in groups, students chose a "British" Food (and we used that definition loosely), and conducted a collective deep dive into not only how the food is made, but also the science behind each recipe and it's  economic, historical, and/or cultural significance.

Each group also created a step-by-step tutorial on how to make their food, and included the results of their research along with each recipe.
